Fun in the garden!

Little green thumbs at Tooradin Primary School were enthralled to learn about the magical process of how a seed grows into a plant on Monday 22 July.

The three-year-old students created mini green houses to grow a pea seed.

“This was a wonderful opportunity to combine early maths concepts such as counting and measuring with the children’s natural curiosity about investigating their natural world,” teacher Rachel Davis said.’

“Our dedicated staff, Amy and Pam, guided the children through the basic steps of planting and will continue to observe the progress of their seedlings over the coming weeks by making predictions and monitoring the growth.”

The children will be able take home their mini green house to extend their learning to home and promote an interest in growing their own food.

Enrolments are currently open for the 2020 Seagulls Three Year Old Group and enquiries can be made through the school office on 59983321.
