Donations flood support service – Cranbourne Information and Support Service manager Leanne Petrides receives donations from members of the Casey TigerSharks. With her are Sophie Li, Jessica Li, Ben H

THE Christmas spirit is alive and well at the Casey TigerSharks Swimming Club.
Members of the club have rallied to donate a range of items to the Cranbourne Information and Support Service (CISS) in time for Christmas.
The donations of pantry staples, toiletries, back-to-school supplies and toys were a welcome donation for CISS, which is experiencing an ever-increasing demand on its services.
TigerSharks head coach Ben Hiddlestone said he was overwhelmed by the support shown.
“Many of our kids are fortunate enough to come from families that can provide the basics for them. It is important for them to realise the lucky positions they are in and to give back to those not so lucky in the local community,” Mr Hiddlestone said.
CISS manager Leanne Petrides said the donation came at a time when many people were struggling.
“This donation, which came from the children as well as the adults connected to this club, is a fantastic contribution to our agency at a time when we are seeing more and more people requesting assistance,” Ms Petrides said.
She said it was uplifting to see the generosity.
