Car crashes into home

Five people including three children have been taken to hospital after a car smashed into a Cranbourne home on Monday morning, 15 July.

Police say a gold Toyota collided into a silver Toyota at the intersection of Barkly Street and Normanby Street just after 8am.

The impact caused the silver Toyota to crash into a house on the north-west corner of the intersection.

The driver of the gold Toyota, a 26-year-old Cranbourne man was taken to Casey Hospital in in a stable condition with a chest injury injuries, Ambulance Victoria said.

A 39-year-old Cranbourne woman in the silver car, as well as three children aged between six and 12, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Ambulance Victoria said one boy was transported to The Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries while the other two boys were transported to Frankston Hospital.

The woman was transported to Frankston Hospital in a stable condition with a chest injury, Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman Lana Wilson said.

Two of occupants of the home, who were in bed at the time, were un-injured.

Engineers were on scene to assess the damage caused to the property.

Police are investigating.
