Time to take a little walk on the tranquil side

WALKING along the boardwalk and watching the sun go down in the tranquil coastal hamlet of Tooradin will soon become a reality.
Construction of the long awaited Tooradin Boardwalk began last month and is set to be completed by February 2006.
The boardwalk is a 130-metre long timber footbridge providing waterside pedestrian access across Evans Inlet between the Tooradin Hotel and the Village Main Street.
Once completed, the Tooradin Boardwalk will replace the pedestrian footpath along the South Gippsland Highway bridge, providing a safe and more scenic walkway to enjoy.
Casey CEO Mike Tyler said the project stemmed from initial consultation and planning sessions between council and the Tooradin community and followed an extensive design and approvals process.
A temporary site office and materials/equipment compound has been erected on the western side of Evans Inlet, adjacent to the Tooradin Hotel.
