A LOLLIPOP lady was taken to hospital in a serious condition after she was hit by a car in Hampton Park on Tuesday.
Paramedics said they arrived to find a “chaotic” scene as school children and families had gathered where the Casey council lollipop lady had been hit on the corner of Ormond Road and The Parkway about 3.50pm.
Paramedic Dave Pardoe said the lollipop lady was a 56-year-old woman.
“The woman had been hit by a car that was shunted forward by another car, which sent her into the air, landing in the middle of the road,’ Mr Pardoe said.
The woman had fractured cheeks, fractured pelvis, a suspected fractured right thigh and hip and broken teeth.
“In order to move her off the road we had to splint her pelvis and splint her legs together so that she remained completely still.
“She was in a significant amount of pain so we put a drip in her arm and gave her some pain relief.”
She was taken the The Alfred hospital in a serious, but stable condition.
Two other people were also taken to Dandenong Hospital, one a 29-year-old woman from one of the cars suffering from severe back and neck pain.
