Suspicious house fire in Cranbourne

A house fire in Cranbourne on the weekend is being treated as suspicious after being quickly brought under control by the CFA.

Crews were notified of a house fire at Damian Court in Cranbourne on Saturday 25 May, at 1:27 PM.

Three CFA appliances responded.

Although the house was well alight by the time fire fighters arrived, it was under control around ten minutes later.

The house was under construction and the fire caused significant damage to the back half of the house, according to Victoria Police.

An arson chemist examined the scene, with results still to come.

In a statement, Victoria Police said a group of youths had been seen in the area shortly before the fire and detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
