THE Cranbourne Cricket Club is looking for all abilities players to join the upcoming cricket season.
Casey’s manager of sport and leisure, Richard Amon said the club encouraged anyone with a disability interested in joining a team or learning cricket skills to attend a ‘come and try’ session at Casey Fields.
The sessions will take place on Sunday 28 November, 11am to 12.30pm, Friday 10 December, 6pm to 7.30pm and Friday 28 January 2011, 6pm to 7.30pm.
The All Abilities Cricket Carnival will be held on 27 February 2011 at Casey Fields.
“The carnival encourages people with a disability to get involved in local sports. It is being hosted by Cricket Victoria and is supported by Casey’s Access for All Abilities program, which develops sport and recreation opportunities that are accessible to people with a disability,” Mr Amon said.
“Everyone benefits and everyone can get involved – parents, kids, families, friends, seniors, carers, clubs, sporting associations, leisure centres and disability groups. As well as the health and well-being benefits, participants get to meet new people, improve their skills, have fun and may even build a sporting career.”
The sessions will be held at the oval two nets at Casey Fields. There will be a free barbecue to follow.
To register your interest or attendance at the sessions contact Cranbourne Cricket Club coach Shaun Petrie on 0438 632 482 or City of Casey Customer Service on 9705 5200.
