Skateboarder dies in car crash

A man riding a skateboard has died after a collision with a car in Clyde on Tuesday morning, 2 April.

The 32-year-old Wonthaggi man was struck by a car on the South Gippsland Highway just after 5am.

The female driver of the car stopped at the scene to help the man.

The man received life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.

The man’s death brings the road toll so far this year to 81, compared to 56 this time last year.
