THE City of Casey is calling for expressions of interest from athletes, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and home hosts for the 2006 Edwin Flack Games.
The Edwin Flack Games is a sporting and cultural exchange scheduled to take place in Casey between 19 June and 8 July next year.
The Games follow the 2004 Connolly Games in Springfield, Ohio, USA, in which 89 athletes represented Casey in a range of sports.
Casey mayor Neil Lucas said the Edwin Flack Games of 2006 will showcase many sports, including volleyball, basketball, soccer, golf, softball and tennis.
“The Edwin Flack Games is a wonderful opportunity for the City of Casey to strengthen its sister cities relations and to contribute to global friendships, goodwill and understanding,” he said.
Springfield, Ohio, which hosted last year’s Connolly Games, has already confirmed it will take part next year.
Invitations have also been extended to Casey’s UK sister city of BerwickUponTweed and friendship cities of Ioannina in Greece and Ermera, East Timor.
To find out more call the Edwin Flack Games coordinator on 9705 5200.
