MELISSA Balsom is organising a Ladies Day Out to raise money for the Pink Ribbon Foundation.
Owner of Melbourne Styling Concepts, based in Berwick, Ms Balsom has worked with her friends to put together a spectacular raffle – all in the name of fundraising.
“We’ve all been affected by people who have been touched by cancer, it’s something that’s close to all our hearts,” Ms Balsom said.
“Pink Ribbon is a classic symbol for ladies, so we know it was a fantastic cause to get involved with.
“We wanted to do a local event showcasing a little bit of what we all do and involve it as a fundraiser.”
As a stylist, Ms Balsom specialises in personal styling and makeovers, which is one of the services to be raffled.
Her friends from other Berwick businesses, Magda and Kathy from IBare Giftware will be giving out jewellery, giftware, homeware and handbags and Lorraine from Miss Gowns has donated a bridal gown for the raffle.
There will be many other people exhibiting, as well as fashion parades. There will also be manicures, pedicures and massages available.“It’s our first time, and we’re all very excited and hoping it goes well,” Ms Balsom said. “We’re hoping to make it an annual event, and that every year it gets bigger and better and raises more funds.”
All proceeds raised from the raffle will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
