Teenager Tom Ryan has achieved every golfer’s dream – not once but three times and is now $1,000 richer.

Tom, 17, scored a hole-on-one on the 14th hole of Cranbourne Golf Club on 2 March while playing with friends during a competition.

He recalled the feat as the “best feeling” he’s ever had.

“I hit the shot, about 136 metres, with a 3⁄4 eight iron; it was a tight 2 metre draw,” he explained.

“It looked good, and I thought I heard something from the green, but I couldn’t see the pin so wasn’t sure. I thought maybe it hit the pin and ricocheted off, or, maybe it went in.”

He says his mate Dave “walked up to the green, saw a patch mark on the side of the hole and was thinking ‘no way’, then saw the ball in the hole.”

Tom, of Narre Warren South, who is also a member of Cranbourne Golf Club, also took home a $1,000 cheque which was presented to him on Tuesday 19 March.

The competition was organised by property developer, Lennium Group, whereby the 14th hole was sponsored by Ironwood Private Estate.

Tom says he will spend his winnings to cover his entrance fees when he heads to Queensland for the Australian Junior Amateurs, and when he competes in the Royal Melbourne Junior Championships later this year.

It was Tom’s second hole-in-one for the year, with his first one being won at the Victorian Junior Masters in January.
