Rowe on reading

AWARD winning author Jeannette Rowe visited Cranbourne Library recently as part of Children’s Week celebrations.
Ms Rowe read and gave out free copies of her SmartyCat book series to children who attended.
Ms Rowe said reading with children was a great way to teach them about the joy of books.
“All the research points to a link between exposure to books at an early age and improved educational outcomes, as well as revealing a strong relationship between literacy and health later in life,” Ms Rowe said.
The SmartyCat books are designed to help parents answer some of the difficult questions children tend to ask such as, what is rain and how do we make shadows? The Casey Grammar choir sang at the library as part of the event.
