Shed will be packed

AFTER more than 18 months, The Shed will reopen its doors to the public on Saturday.
Cranbourne’s iconic skate park has undergone significant changes since it closed in 2007, and is now set to be the biggest indoor skatepark in the southern hemisphere.
Featuring a vert ramp, bowl, street area and foam pit, The Shed will cater for skateboarders, BMX riders, inline skaters and scooter riders.
Casey deputy mayor Shar Balmes said the entire park was covered, so it could be used in rain, hail or shine. Skaters such as Shane Serena, Jeff Williams, Mike Daly, Nathan Beck, Bart Carnes and Andrew Mitchell helped the council design The Shed.
“The Shed will cater to all levels of ability and user groups with each day split into three-hour sessions. General session prices are $7.50 for three hours, making it the least expensive indoor skate park facility in Australia,” Cr Balmes said.
The Shed will be open to the public from 10am to 10pm on 13 November and from 10am to 9pm on 14 November. Large crowds are expected at the opening of the venue, so the council has encouraged the community to visit The Shed all week long when it will be opened from 10am to 9pm from Monday to Thursday and 10am to 10pm on Friday.
