Motorbike rider critical after smash

A driver of a motorbike is in a critical condition following a multi-vehicle collision in Hampton Park on Sunday 3 March.

Paramedics were called to reports of a collision involving a car and motorcyclist on Somerville Road in Hampton Park about 1.20pm.

Police allege a motorcycle collided with a Toyota Camry that was driving out of a driveway on Somerville Road about 1.20pm which threw the rider from his motorcycle where he was then struck by a Holden Astra travelling in the opposite direction.

The rider, aged in his twenties was taken to The Alfred Hospital and being treated for life-threatening injuries including injuries to his abdominal region.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said another man was assessed at the scene with no obvious injuries.

Transport to hospital was not required for this second patient.The driver of the Toyota and the Holden were not injured.
