THE City of Casey’s Civic Centre Art Space is hosting two new art exhibitions.
Water of Life, by Jenny Koch, and Works on Paper, by Marie Warnecke, will be on display until 29 November.
The Water of Life exhibition focuses on the fundamental need for water, featuring expressive oil paintings inspired by a variety of sources, including history, music and literature.
Ms Warnecke’s exhibition includes a series of watercolour miniatures, featuring a variety of landscape settings, including Hastings, Mt Martha and the Yarra Valley.
Marie exhibits widely and was the City of Casey guest artist at this year’s Kevin Hill’s Top Ten Australian Artists exhibition held recently.
City of Casey mayor Lorraine Wreford encouraged people to go along and check out the exhibition.
“The Civic Centre Art Space is an excellent place to discover the creative talents of local artists, so I encourage residents to make time to view the current art works on exhibition,” she said.
Applications are also invited from artists interested in exhibiting in the Civic Centre Art Space in the 2011 program.
Information packs and application forms are available on Casey’s website at www.casey.vic.gov.au/artspace or by calling City of Casey customer service on 9705 5200.
Applications close 29 October 2010.
The Civic Centre Art Space is located at the City of Casey council offices, Magid Drive, Narre Warren, and is open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm. Entry is free and most artworks are available to purchase.
