Two teenagers have been charged following an attempted robbery in Cranbourne on Thursday 31 January.
Police say a 16-year-old boy was walking along William Street, Cranbourne when it’s alleged he has been approached from behind by a boy, a man, and a girl about 9pm.
One of the men grabbed the victim by the neck and demanded his mobile phone while the others filmed the incident on their phones. The victim managed to break free and ran from the scene.
The bandits chased the victim for about 100 metres before the group headed towards the Cranbourne CBD where they were arrested by police a short time later.
A 15-year-old boy from Cranbourne North and an 18-year-old man from Cranbourne were both charged and bailed in relation to the matter, and a 15-year-old girl from Cranbourne West released pending enquiries.
