Families in Botanic Ridge are a step closer to having a new primary school after a site was secured to build a proposed primary school.

The State Government is in the process of acquiring land at 83-85 Browns Road, Botanic Ridge for work to start on a new Botanic Ridge Primary School and early learning facility, which are set to open at the start of 2020.

The Government has been working closely with the current land owners to finalise this acquisition.

Minister for Education James Merlino said: “This is part of our school building boom, ensuring Victorian families have access to great local schools.”

In July last year, the State Government announced land at 50S Eliburn Drive, Cranbourne East had been acquired to start work on a $20.1 million Casey Fields (Five Ways) Primary School which will open in 2020.

As part of the $850 million investment, Labor has also promised to deliver schools in some of the fastest growing communities including:

• Clyde North East Primary School, opening 2020

• Cranbourne West Secondary and Special School, opening 2021

• Clyde North Primary, opening 2022

• Clyde North Secondary College, opening 2022

The Andrews Labor Government is building the Education State with an unprecedented $3.8 billion investment in improving, upgrading and building schools to ensure that every community can access a great local school where students are supported to achieve their best.
