CRANBOURNE students are getting their creative juices flowing by decorating flags that will line the streets for the MRA Cranbourne GP Run.
Students at Markebek School and St Agatha’s Primary School are decorating more than 100 flags that will be displayed in the Greg Clydesdale Square and High Street for the wave off event on 16 October.
Casey councillor and chairperson of the event’s organising committee, Wayne Smith, said the project would contribute to the carnival atmosphere and community spirit at the event.
“The flags will be a colourful spectacle and I’m sure the local students will be both proud and excited to see their artwork displayed in public,” Cr Smith said.
“The MRA Cranbourne GP Run is one of the most exciting community events in Victoria, so it is terrific that the local community is involved in the lead-up to, and on the day,” said Cr Smith.
There will be a host of activities for children at Greg Clydesdale Square on the day, including a rock climbing wall, face painting, go-karts, Casey’s 360 bus and food stalls.
