More than 300 people got their grove on during a flashback to the 80s fundraiser dinner to help disadvantaged students.
Local businesses, together with members of Rotary Cranbourne, local school principals, teachers and administrators donned bold colours and big hair to raise money for the Assisting Casey Education (ACE) Foundation on Saturday 20 October.
The $60,000 raised will go towards assisting children in the City of Casey overcome hurdles in their educational pursuits.
Fun included magicians, jugglers, face painters, caricaturists and photo booths, as well as a surprise flash mob act by Speranza Entertainment.
The night was organised by Teresa Muratore, the ACE Foundation secretary and administrator.
A return business class tickets for two to London courtesy of Singapore Airlines was the biggest auction prize given away.
There were also a multitude of other public and silent auction items on the night.
“Because the ACE Foundation has no administrative costs, all of this money will reach deserving children in the City of Casey,” Ms Muratore said.
“It will help feed hungry students, provide bursaries for deserving students at the end of the school year and most importantly it will provide glasses for visually impaired primary school children in the City of Casey.
“The Foundation has recently been formally approved as a collaborative partner with the Casey Council. This will improve the networking and resourcing of the Foundation thereby further assisting students in the City of Casey.”
The Foundation is currently seeking tutor volunteers to help with our study classes next year Monday-Wednesday 4.30pm – 6.30pm
