One hot single

By Bridget Brady
CHELSEA Adams is chasing her dreams.
Her love for performing began at age three when she was dancing and singing around her home.
Now, the 22-year-old Berwick songwriter is preparing to launch her first pop single, Break Away, in St Kilda at the end of the month.
Ms Adams grew up in Cranbourne and was discovered by a talent scout when she auditioned for Casey Idol at age 17.
Since then, Ms Adams’ career has been a work in progress, and she has continued to work as a dance teacher at Splitz Dance Studio in Berwick to fund her ambitions while writing and recording 12 songs.
The launch on 27 August won’t just be a rousing experience for Ms Adams, but also for a group of her dance students who she has asked to perform on stage with her at the launch.
Ms Adams said she was determined to give her career her best shot.
“I’m not the kind of person to give up, so I want to go as far as I can. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to give up on it because I love it so much,” she said.
“When people say no, I prove them wrong.”
Ms Adams said she hoped to get as many supporters aspossible at her launch at Felix in St Kilda.
The launch will begin at 8pm.
