PEARCEDALE Primary School students were channelling Picasso as they took out the prize as the best cow painters in Mornington.
The school was one of seven Mornington schools who competed in the Dairy Australia’s Picasso Cow program – winning the $250 prize for their brightly painted cow.
The program aimed to educate students, teachers and parents about the nutritional benefits of dairy food, while they learned about the industry.
Students presented journals which described their six-week journey and newly learnt knowledge of the dairy industry.
Pearcedale Primary School teacher Kerry Kingham said the children enjoyed the project.
“It really lifted their focus about the dairy industry and a healthy diet, what a fabulous program,” Ms Kingham said.
Other schools from the area who took part in the program included Tooradin and Baxter primary schools.
