Ninja Warrior revs up in Casey

Nothing stopped BMX Ninja Warrior Daniel Walker from attending the Casey BMX Club in rain and hail to meet the members and ride with the children on Saturday, 15 September.

The interschool cycling event was cancelled due to inclement weather but there was no way he was going to disappoint the locals.

Ninja Warrior is a Channel 9 program that showcases top athletes, wrestlers and amateurs completing a physically demanding challenge.

“I came to the event because I love to give back to the BMX community who have supported me immensely over my ninja warrior experience,” Mr Walker said.

“I love everything about BMX, the feeling, the experiences, the thrill and especially the community; it is very similar to being a Ninja Warrior which is probably why I slide well into the ninja world.

“The Ninja community is so inviting and encouraging and it’s such a self-motivated sport just like BMX.”

Mr Walker said he couldn’t encourage children and parents enough to give BMX a go enough.

“It’s an amazing community with so much room for growth and experiences beyond your wildest dreams,” he said.

14 brave riders faced the conditions on the day and tried their luck against Mr Walker.

“It was a fabulous event where we raced four races and then had a signing and meet and greet with the BMX Ninja Warrior who had donated his time to hanging with club members,” club president Adrian Bognar said.

It was a huge day for the club with with Strictly BMX donating six brand new race bikes to the club so that people can come and join in even if they cannot afford a bike. Strictly BMX also donated a 2019 Chase race bike for the first prize in the trivia night raffle.

Mr Walker donated two auction items for the club’s very first trivia night to be held on Sunday, 23 September at The Amazing Grace in Cranbourne.
