ULYSSES motorcycle club members from Tooradin had the accuracy of their speedometers checked on the weekend.
More than 100 bikes from the Tooradin Shearwaters, Mornington Wanderers and Rosebud Two Bay’s branches of the Ulysses Club were checked at speeds of 60km/h and 100km/h in Hastings on Saturday against the police radar.
Hastings Traffic Management Unit revealed the speedos were generally under reading by about three to four kilometres.
John Smollen from the Ulysses Club said members were happy to support the speedo check as speedometers could often be over or under without a rider being aware of it.
Mr Smollen thanked the Hastings TMU for their support and Blue Scope Steel for allowing the groups to use their barbecue for a sausage sizzle.
Money raised from the sausage sizzle will be donated to a Hastings-based police charity.
