Man ambushed at ATM

Two 17-year-old Cranbourne boys were among four teens arrested following an alleged robbery and the theft of a car in Cheltenham on Wednesday 8 August.

The attack took place on Chesterville Road when a Bentleigh East man was approached by the four males, including a 19-year-old Officer man and a 14-year-old Pakenham boy, as he withdrew cash from an ATM just after 10pm.

The man was allegedly assaulted with a stick before the offenders stole his cash and a credit card and drove off in the victim’s car, a Black Land Rover Discovery.

Police arrested three males in Pakenham after they were allegedly found in the stolen vehicle at the intersection of Greendale Boulevard and Honeyeater Way at 10pm.

A short time later a fourth teenager was arrested as he boarded a bus at the Pakenham Railway Station.

The four, a 19-year-old Officer man, a 14-year-old Pakenham boy and two 17-year-old boys from Cranbourne and Dandenong North are currently being interviewed by police.
