Horse surrendered to RSPCA

An emaciated horse has been rescued from a property in Cranbourne after RSCPA received an emergency report by a member of the public.

RSPCA carried out the operation on the morning of Wednesday 1 August.

RSPCA Victoria Inspectorate team leader Stuart Marchesani said “Shortly after receiving the report RSPCA Victoria inspectors attended the property. Sadly, one horse could not be saved but another horse was surrendered to RSPCA Victoria and is undergoing veterinary assessment.

Mr Marchesani said a legal notice was issued for the remaining horse at the property.

“The legal notice provided was a notice to comply to ensure the welfare of the remaining horse is not at risk,” he said.

“As this is an ongoing investigation, we are unable to comment further.”
