Assaulted and bike stolen

A NINE-year-old boy was punched in the head when he had his BMX bike stolen from him in Cranbourne on the weekend.
The boy was riding his bike near Monahans Reserve about 4.20pm on 17 April when another boy, described as being 13 or 14 years old, approached him.
The nine-year-old fell and was punched and kicked in the head before the offender stole his bike, valued at $450.
Detective Mark Wiederhold said the boy was distressed and traumatised, but did not need to go to hospital for his injuries.
Det Wiederhold said it was very concerning to hear about that sort of incident, and encouraged witnesses to contact police.
Anyone with information can contact Detective Mark Wiederhold at Casey CIU on 9705 3111.
