SOME of the region’s sweetest and best apples will be a highlight at this weekend’s Pearcedale Produce Market, organisers say.
Autumn harvest crops will feature at the market, which will be held Saturday 17 April, from 8am to 1pm on.
Greg and Jenny Bradshaw would bring their favourite apples such as Golden Delicious, Granny Smiths and Gala apples.
“These apples are not waxed and parents can relax knowing that our apples are safe to eat, especially in school lunches,” Mr Bradshaw said.
Autumn harvest will also see the return of onions, mushrooms, leafy Chinese greens and sweet, golden pumpkins. Varieties of chillies and freshly cut flowers will also be for sale.
The popular egg stall will be back for this Saturday’s market.
Visitors to the market can chat to environmental education officer Abbie Lane from the City of Casey who will attend the market. Ms Lane is an expert on worm farming and composting.
The market is held at710 Baxter-Tooradin Road in Pearcedale, next to the Pearcedale Recreation Reserve. The Pearcedale Craft and Produce Market is set to be held on 1 May.
