A HAMPTON Park resident has been chosen as the winner of a competition to name a new community in Clyde North.
Ayse Sener came up with the name Selandra Rise, and described it as a unique name, with each letter chosen for its ancient philosophy and numerological meaning.
Selandra Rise was chosen from more than 90 entries from Casey residents in response to Stockland’s Name a New Neighbourhood competition.
A panel selected the top three names and Casey residents voted for the winning entry.
“I am very excited to have been chosen as the winner and feel honoured to be involved in naming this special neighbourhood,” Ms Sener said.
The Hampton Park resident has also won a laptop for herself, and one for an organisation of her choice. Ms Sener said she wanted to donate the laptop to the not-for-profit Hampton Park Community House.
Manager of the community house, Sue Murphy, said Ms Sener’s gesture was greatly appreciated, as the organisation struggled to get essential equipment.
“Out staff currently share computers due to the lack of equipment funding. This generous donation will make a huge difference and allow us to allocate our staff with a resource that further enhances our ability to serve our diverse community,” Ms Murphy said.
