Blind Bight Community Centre threw its doors open to showcase the services they offer last Saturday 23 June.

A giant bubble display and a science demonstration courtesy of Monash University were the highlights of the day drawing children and big kids at heart.

The event aimed to promote the centre with fun interactive activities for kids and craft demonstrations for the adults.

There was also a sausage sizzle, face painting, jumping castle, toy library, nature kids’ display, colouring competition, Lego, a tiny tots dance, patchwork and knitting demonstrations and live souls/blues music.

Manager Leanne Craven said she was pleased with the turn-out despite rain threatening earlier in the day.

“We had great feedback and the day was very successful,” she said.

A number of volunteers also helped make the day special.

“We could not have done it without their help,” said Ms Craven.

“A big thank you to all who participated and got involved in making it the awesome day that it was.”

The event is expected to be held annually which will be “bigger, brighter and better” in the warmer months.
