School kids jump to it

COURTENAY Gardens Primary School students have new fitness equipment to keep them busy at lunchtime thanks to a $46,460 government grant.
Holt Labor MP Anthony Byrne officially unveiled 10 pieces of fitness equipment at the Cranbourne school this month.
The equipment was paid for through the Australian Government’s Healthy Active Australia Community and Schools Grants Program.
Students can now enjoy step-ups, weaving poles, jump and touch bars and climbing apparatus.
“The new fitness equipment is used during physical education classes and at lunchtime and equipment can be used to suit activities from Preps through to Grade 6,” Mr Byrne said.
The Healthy Active Australia Community and Schools Grants Program provides grants to not-for-profit organisations to undertake healthy eating and physical activity initiatives in communities and schools.
