A MOTHER and her three children had a lucky escape last week after their Lynbrook house was destroyed in a fire.
Firefighters from the Hampton Park CFA battled the fire at the Glenshee Drive property on Monday 1 March at 8am.
The single-storey home was well alight when the brigade arrived, says brigade support officer Paul Little.
Hallam and Cranbourne firefighters also helped fight the fire and were on scene for about two-and-a-half hours.
Hampton Park CFA Captain Arnaud Marion is reminding people to have escape plans prepared.
Residents are urged to check and maintain all smoke detectors.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
