Grants open for community projects

City of Casey Mayor Cr Geoff Ablett is encouraging community groups to apply for the various grants up for grabs.

Community groups and organisations are being encouraged to apply for grants in Casey.
The council has opened applications for five different grants which offer support for services, projects, programs and events that benefit the Casey community:
Community Service Organisations grants of up to $40,000 for three years to deliver support programs in health and wellbeing services, support for young people, mental health, drug or alcohol issues, people in crisis and those socially isolated and family violence prevention.
Not-for profit grants of up to $3,000 for community groups and organisations to provide programs and events that benefit the Casey community.
Biodiversity Incentive Scheme grants of up to $2,000 to assist with land care and delivery of environmentally focused projects on private and public property.
Environmental Sustainability grants of up to $2,000 for businesses, education and child care institutions and community groups.
Heritage grants for urgent conservation or documentary works to support the management of heritage assets, buildings, places and sites of significance in Casey.
An applicant must provide a financial like for like contribution towards the project.
City of Casey Mayor Cr Geoff Ablett encouraged organisations, groups and individuals across Casey to check out the different programs available.
“These are great opportunities to get financial support to carry out initiatives that benefit Casey, from community events, to important support services or projects that enhance and protect our environment.
