School leaders announced

By Brendan Rees

Casey Grammar School’s new principal Richard Baird says he was honoured to be commissioned as the school’s third principal on Tuesday, 13 February.
“I had the pleasure of being commissioned as well as being the part of both the Junior and senior school commissioning services,” Mr Baird said.
“I am confident that this group of leaders will do an outstanding job in 2018″.
Mr Baird was appointed to the position in June last year after an extremely competitive recruitment process which attracted applicants from Australia and overseas.
Mr Baird was previously the Deputy Principal of Great Southern Grammar School in Albany Western Australia. His two sons will also attend Casey Grammar this year.
“I pledged to honour our vision and mission to provide the highest professional standards of teaching and quality educational services,” he said.
Mr Baird vowed to display values of integrity, tolerance, respect and compassion.
Valuing the school’s founding staff and students that “have placed the school so very well for me to lead,” was also of importance to him, he said.
Speaking at the service, Mr Baird thanked the school chaplain Monique Riviere-Pendle for her messages and blessings for the students.
“I would like to thank the board members, school council, parents, students and the wider community for your support with these significant milestones.”
“History has taught us that, when we come together in groups or teams, we can achieve more than we can as individuals,” he said
“Good leadership ensures that groups of people work together effectively and efficiently to achieve a common purpose.”
