PARENTS are encouraged to book their children in for a vacation program in Cranbourne to keep the kids entertained these holidays.
The Vacation Care Program at Merinda Park Learning and Community Centre is usually booked out, but staff say numbers are low at this stage, and encourage parents to consider it for the holidays.
Assistant manager Lyn Craig said recent talk of increased prices for childcare may be one of the reasons parents were hesitant to book their children in.
But Ms Craig said prices at the Merinda Park Learning and Community Centre had not changed.
“Our costs are not rising. We’re staying the same at this stage,” she said.
The program was available for primary school aged children and started from 11 January until the end of the holidays.
Some of the activities included in the program were craft and games days, excursions to rock pools and incursions such as a magic show.
Ms Craig said the program was an attractive option for parents who worked full-time, but also for those who wanted to send their children to the centre for a day for something different.
The program can cater for up to 60 children.
To book, call the centre on 5996 9056.
