Cranbourne Police are investigating an incident where counterfeit money had been produced at a store in Lyndhurst, about 4.50pm on 15 October.
Police say a staff member “was on the money” when they did not accept the fake $50 note, believing “something was amiss”.
Police have released a CCTV image of a male that they believe will be able to assist with their inquiries.
