Police draw the line at problem python

By Victoria Stone-Meadows

A search warrant on a Cranbourne property has allegedly uncovered drugs, weapons … and a near three-metre-long carpet python.
The Dandenong Divisional Response Unit executed a search warrant on the morning of Tuesday 9 May in Clarendon Street, Cranbourne.
Police said they seized methyl amphetamines, prohibited weapons, and stolen property from the premises but called in special help to remove the large snake.
The wildlife resource and protection and management team from the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning were responsible for removing the reptile.
A 28-year-old man from Cranbourne has been interviewed by police and has been released pending further inquiries.
