CFA fights wind and fire

CFA crews battled strong winds and rain to extinguish a house fire in Lynbrook on Sunday morning.
At about 2.10am, CFA crews from Hampton Park, Cranbourne and Hallam attended the fire on Slessor Avenue. Incident controller and Hampton Park Captain Arnaud Marion said despite the weather, firefighters managed to prevent the blaze from spreading through the entire house.
The fire was contained within 20 minutes and all people from the house were evacuated. The fire destroyed a roof, several rooms in the house, the garage and two cars.
Fire investigators were sifting through the remains to determine what caused the blaze.
