A YOUNG woman has been saved from a terrifying incident in Cranbourne East when the family pet scared away a couple of would-be home intruders.
The 15-year-old girl was home alone on Tuesday 15 November when she heard loud noises coming from the front of the house about 2.30pm.
The family dog also heard the noises and when the large bull mastiff cross went to investigate the noise and let off a bark, the would-be crooks fled in a hurry.
The young girl saw them leave in an orange coloured sedan and police are asking anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the area at the time to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
