A POLICE officer has narrowly avoided injury after being hit by a Molotov cocktail that was thrown at him in Cranbourne North on the morning of Friday 11 November.
Uniform members of Victoria Police were performing a welfare check at a house on Cypress Court at about 8.30am, where it was reported a man was unconscious in a car in the driveway.
Police then called an ambulance that took the unconscious man to hospital, but two other cars arrived while they were still at the scene.
Police allege a person in one of the cars threw a Molotov cocktail at them, which struck one of the officers.
The cars then fled from the scene and police gave chase until Hallam Road in Hampton Park, where four people were arrested about 10.30am.
