A CRANBOURNE East woman has been charged over a car crash in August after which a baby died.
The 31-year-old female driver drove out of a car park and collided with a vehicle which was travelling south on South Gippsland Highway, Cranbourne, near the Thompsons Road intersection about 1.40pm on 8 August.
The second vehicle’s 25-year-old pregnant driver was hospitalised after the crash.
She gave birth but the child died in hospital.
The accused was uninjured.
She was charged by Major Collision Unit detectives on 2 November with dangerous driving causing death, reckless conduct endangering a person, careless driving, failing to give way and disobeying a one way sign.
She was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 9 November.
