HAMPTON Park Primary School students were abuzz with football fever last week when Melbourne Football Club players visited for the inaugural Read Like A Demon program.
Jarrod Rivers and Trent Zomer visited the school last Tuesday as part of the literacy program, which is a joint partnership between the Melbourne Football Club and Casey-Cardinia Library Corporation to promote reading skills.
Nine senior Hampton Park Primary School students are participating in the program.
Senior school leader Kara Bogicevic said the students had now participated in three workshops.
“Students have read with a variety of Melbourne players within each workshop and learnt about the books that the players enjoyed reading as children and continue to enjoy reading now,” she said. “The program will conclude with the final siren on 19 August at Casey Fields with students watching training and celebrating the Read Like A Demon program by receiving a certificate for their efforts.”
