Friends rally around

IN A Berwick family’s time of deep distress, their school community has rallied around them to help in the only way they know how.
Year 8 student, Tahlia, from Hillcrest Christian College had only been at the school two months when she was diagnosed with leukaemia.
The 13-year-old hasn’t attended school since March and has had her mum beside her since the devastating diagnosis and chemotherapy treatments.
In a fundraising effort by Hillcrest Christian College the school said: “Tahlia’s dad has passed and her mother is the only income earner, caring for four children.
“Tahlia’s mum is unable to work as she has been beside Tahlia in hospital.”
In a great show of support for the family, the college is hosting a benefit concert featuring the Cardina Civic Concert Band and a sausage sizzle, with all funds to be donated to the family.
The concert will be held at the college theatre on Friday 7 October from 7.30pm.
Anyone that wants to make a donation to the family or buy tickets to the concert can visit: www.trybooking.com/NBJK or https://www.facebook.com/events/174887102946872/

Tahlia’s friends call for support.
