Festival of Lights
THIS event celebrates Chinese culture through 32 silk lanterns, some 20 metres wide and eight metres high. Windmills, dinosaurs, flowers, insects, animals and more will feature. There will also be roving performers and a dumpling bar.

Wellbeing workshops
GET some balance with a three-week series of wellbeing workshops for carers of an older person. Topics include Impact of Caring, Music and Self-care. The free workshops are aimed at family and friends who are supporting an older person or someone who is living with dementia at home.

Keysborough Fire Brigade open day
CFA volunteers will be on hand for station and truck tours to show prospective members the ropes. There’ll be fire-fighting demonstrations, a sausage sizzle, refreshments and kids’ activities.

Equestrian
HARNESS for pleasure horse drivers will test their skills at the 2016 state championships at Akoonah Park, Berwick. Some 42 classes include judging of best buggy and jinker, commercial delivery vehicles, period costume and vehicle, best female and male drivers and also junior drivers.

Park run
PARTICIPATE with more than 100 others in a free five-kilometre timed event every Saturday morning. The event caters for serious runners and for those wanting a jog or even a walk.

Jungle fun
CHILDREN’S favourite Jay Laga’aia is partnering with Playgroups Victoria to present Jay’s Jungle. Jay and his team will entertain the audience and inspire young minds. The 45-minute concert is filled with song, dance and music.
