Hampton’s Holden home

HAMPTON Park Primary School students raced their own inventions during their Billy Cart Race Day recently.
Students dressed up in their house colours on 18 June and competed in a fun and relaxed atmosphere during the day. Staff members said the day was a culmination of hard work by students who learned to build and improve their basic cart designs.
Senior Sergeant Alan McCarthy had the radar gun handy to record the top speeds. The winner was the Holden team who reached a speed of 25km/h.
Sen Sgt McCarthy highlighted to the students the importance of safety on the road, with a particular emphasis on helmets, seat belts and pedestrian safety. All students who dressed in their house colours and those who participated in the face painting donated a gold coin to the Junior School Council.
