A COMMUNITY culture is being built in Clyde North.
After grants for the Selandra Integrated Community Centre were announced in March this year, construction has started this month.
The community centre will provide a range of multi-use activity programs, events and meeting spaces, to cater for council services, community groups and small businesses.
The State Government provided $2.5 million for the project from the ‘Growing Suburbs Fund’ in 2015/16.
The fund targets high priority projects that improve the amenity, liveability and resilience of communities in Victoria’s 10 interface councils, of which Casey is one.
Clyde North residents have operated a small community centre out of a display home in Selandra Rise for three years.
