A MAN has been arrested on the Gold Coast following an investigation into a series of alleged historical sexual assaults in Cranbourne between 1965 and 1980.
Dandenong Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives, with assistance from Queensland Police, arrested a 62-year-old man from Carrara in Queensland on Thursday 21 July about 2pm.
The man has been charged with 48 offences, including gross indecency and indecent assault.
He was remanded to appear at Southport Magistrates’ Court where an application was to be made to extradite him to Victoria.
