Confidence in a snap

A GROUP of Cranbourne women achieved new skills and shared their life experiences during a photographic workshop at the Balla Balla Community Centre.
Twenty-five women participated in the five-week workshop called Empowering Women Photographic workshop.
Balla Balla Community Centre co-ordinator Maree Cullinan said the women gained more than just digital camera skills.
“For some participants it provided them with an opportunity to come together with other women and share their lives,” she said.
“It built confidence for some and new passion for others.”
Tutor Joanne Mendes said she enjoyed being involved in the group. “It was very uplifting seeing the women come along and develop in their own way,” Ms Mendes said.
“They achieved some amazing results.”
A selection of the photographs the women had taken will be exhibited at the centre for one month. The exhibition is free to the public during the centre’s usual operating hours.
To attend the opening night on 30 June call 5990 0900.
The City of Casey, through the empowering women grant, funded the workshop.
