House fire death

A 58-year-old man died in a house fire in Tooradin on Tuesday. Emergency services were called to the Mickle Street address about 4pm after the fire was reported.
Intensive care paramedic Andrew Burns said he arrived to find the CFA putting out the flames, with large amounts of smoke billowing from the house.
“Unfortunately a bed-ridden man was found dead at the scene upon arrival,” he said. A 58-year-old woman who had smoke inhalation was taken to Casey Hospital. “His wife was visibly upset and had rushed into the house to try and save him.”
Senior Constable Lee Mainnie from Casey CIU said the fire was not suspicious.
