EMPOWERING women was the focus at four workshops at the Community Learning Centre last month.
Personal Grooming was the first session to be held at the Hallam Community Centre.
Facilitator and image consultant Sue Doogan gave more than a dozen women helpful hints on how to dress to impress with simple techniques such as adding a belt to their ensemble or colour coordinating their threads.
“It was fabulous. Everyone was excited about the ideas they learned,” manager Dianne Wilson said.
“There was so much interest and not enough time so we are organising another session to teach women about applying make-up.”
Ms Wilson said the workshops were aimed at empowering women and improving all aspects of a woman’s life.
“It’s about improving women’s self esteem and also helping women who have just had a baby get back into the workforce,” she said.
The centre also offered two finance and budgeting sessions, a life reflection workshop and a communication workshop.
All sessions were funded by the City of Casey.
