Car collision traps injured

THREE people were injured in a collision at Cranbourne West on Monday night.
Two cars collided at the intersection of Thompson and Evans roads at 9.20pm.
Police said it is believed the Mitsubishi sedan was travelling north in Evans Road when it veered onto the wrong side of the road, colliding with a Pulsar hatch travelling in the opposite direction.
Paramedics arrived to find one person trapped in each of the extensively damaged vehicles, intensive care paramedics Bryan Chesson said.
A woman, in her 20s, was trapped in the Pulsar.
“She had cuts to the face, a possible fractured nose, and chest, abdominal and serious leg injuries.
“We put a drip in her arm and gave her some pain relief, while rescue crews cut off the car’s roof and cut through the brake pedal.”
The woman was taken to The Alfred hospital in serious condition. A 19-year-old female passenger suffered chest, head and neck injuries and was transported to Frankston Hospital in a stable condition.
A 37-year-old man in the Mitsubishi vehicle suffered facial injuries, abdominal injuries, and leg fractures.
The man was transported to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
